In our last blog post, Stand Out From the Crowd, we discussed what employers want to read in a cover letter. In 3 easy steps, we will show you how to write an impressive cover letter!

First, The Introduction

A cover letter is the first impression and employer reads of you, so when introducing the letter, make sure to position yourself. State what job you are applying for, mention the company and briefly explain what you can bring.

Second, The Strengths

This is the MOST important part of the cover letter. It is the section employers are drawn to. Use this as an opportunity to showcase your potential. Take some measurable achievements from your CV, preferably any that have percentages or numbers, and include them in your cover letter. They don’t have to be chronological, but the content MUST be different to the CV. Ideally you should include 3 and place them in bullet points.

Third, The Conclusion

This is the final chance to impress employers. Include some additional skills that will benefit your application. You can include the fact that you are capable of working on your own initiative or in a team environment, or the fact that you are a highly productive and adaptable individual. Keep it short and concise. hot-to-write-an-impressive-cover-letter
